Shared Billing Accounts in WizField
Learn how WizField shared billing accounts cover one or more businesses while keeping product billing separate from CRM records.
A Shared Billing Account is the payer and subscription layer for WizField. One Shared Billing Account may cover multiple organizations, while each organization's business data remains scoped to that organization.
Understand the Shared Billing Account Layer
WizField billing authority is shared-billing-account based, not only workspace-by-workspace. The billing_accounts layer is the authoritative payer and subscription layer.
The organization billing linkage is coverage and entitlement projection. It connects organizations to billing coverage without becoming the subscription authority itself.
Cover Multiple Organizations Under One Entitlement
A single Shared Billing Account may cover multiple organizations under one entitlement. Plan enforcement resolves from the active organization context through the linked Shared Billing Account.
Current plan structure in local repo truth:
| Plan | Business coverage |
|---|---|
| Starter | 1 business |
| Pro | Up to 3 businesses |
| Business | Expanded local model with no fixed hard cap currently enforced in local repo truth |
Separate Platform Billing From CRM Payments
WizField platform billing is separate from tenant CRM invoice and payment records. A customer invoice inside a business workspace is not the same thing as the owner's WizField subscription billing.
This separation keeps SaaS subscription authority distinct from organization-owned service business records.
Understand Verified Billing Behavior
Shared billing entitlement behavior passed local engineering verification. Starter blocked a second business, and after safe local plan expansion, a second organization could be added under the same billing_account_id.
Live Stripe checkout execution and live webhook delivery remain owner activation scope, not completed engineering evidence.
