Multi-Business Workspaces in WizField

Understand how WizField supports users who manage more than one business through organization-scoped workspaces.

Multi-business workspaces let one WizField user access more than one business while keeping each business's data scoped to its own organization. Users switch organizations explicitly through the supported switcher flow.

Understand Organizations as Workspace Boundaries

In WizField, organizations are the top-level tenant boundary for business data. Users are global identities, and memberships connect users to organizations.

This structure allows one person to participate in multiple businesses without turning all business records into one shared pool. Organization-owned records stay attached to the business that owns them.

Use Memberships for Roles and Permissions

Roles and permissions belong to memberships, not globally to users. A user can therefore have different access in different organizations.

Every tenant-owned request resolves the actor, active organization, membership, role, and permissions. Backend membership validation is authoritative.

Switch Organizations Explicitly

Multi-business users switch organizations by explicit click through the supported switcher flow. The active organization comes from the authenticated session, not from an arbitrary frontend organization ID.

After a successful switch, WizField navigates to /home so stale client state is cleared and the app reloads under the selected organization context.

Keep Each Business Context Separate

The active organization changes the context for dashboard, customers, leads, jobs, estimates, invoices, settings, search, calls, messaging, reports, booking, and portal-adjacent surfaces.

Cross-organization access is forbidden. Tenant-owned reads, updates, deletes, counts, and lists must remain organization-scoped.

Multi-business access and billing coverage are related but separate concepts. Read Shared Billing Accounts in WizField to understand how one billing account can cover multiple organizations under one entitlement.

For terminology, read Workspace, Membership, and Active Organization.
