How Worker Language Preferences Work

Worker language preferences let each user choose a preferred language within an active organization. The organization controls which worker languages are enabled, and English is always available.

Enable Worker Languages by Organization

Language Store uses organization-level worker language activation. Owners or admins manage which worker languages are active for the organization.

Language activation and usage enforcement are organization-scoped. Effective Language Store rights are enforced per covered organization, not as a floating pool across all organizations on a billing account.

Choose a User Preference Within One Organization

Each user can select a preferred language from the languages enabled for the active organization. The same user may have different preferred languages in different organizations.

This keeps language preferences aligned with the active organization instead of making one global user preference apply everywhere.

Keep Organization Switching Separate From Language Switching

Organization switching changes the active business workspace. Language switching changes the user's language preference inside that active organization.

The two controls serve different purposes and should not be treated as the same product action.

Fall Back Safely When a Language Is Disabled

If an organization disables a language that a user previously selected, the user must safely fall back to English for that organization.

Historical translated document output remains unchanged. The user's preference record may remain stored for future reuse if that language is re-enabled later.
